PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS AND GUIDELINES

WHUT-TV airs public service announcements to encourage an atmosphere of information, outreach and service. WHUT is committed to airing PSAs that have appeal and offer value to the WHUT audience, as well as provide some benefit to the community. Please review the following guidelines by which we accept and air PSAs:

• All services and programs offered must be free of charge.
• PSAs using public office holders, entertainers, and celebrities will be broadcast only at the discretion of WHUT.
• PSAs should not be of commercial, political, religious, legislative content or contain an advocacy position.
• WHUT does not broadcast PSAs promoting individual community events, concerts, seminars, exhibits, bazaars, etc.
• PSAs containing direct fundraising appeals will not be broadcast.
• Formal preference: Betacam (1/2")
• Length preference: 30-second, 60-second
• All PSAs must be of professional broadcast quality.

PSAs are carefully reviewed with respect to the campaign of project appeal, content of the message, and the manner of the presentation. WHUT will evaluate the quality of broadcast material and determine its acceptability according to station guidelines.
