As the only HBCU licensed public television station in the world, WHUT/Howard University Television is conveniently located in Northwest Washington, DC on the corner of 4th and Bryant at the edge of the Howard University campus.
We offer two spacious 60×40 ft. studios with amenities such as convenient location for adjoining reception and/or catering space, a green room, full audio recording room and more. Some of our clients include 3Roads Communications, the HistoryMakers, APTS, Black Entertainment Television, Discovery Communications, NAACP and TVOne.
With an ideal location within the Washington DC area, currently WHUT is one of the few fully-operational HD studio facilities still available for hire and/or rental in the Greater Washington metro area. We have (3) Sony XD studio cameras and a fully-operational HD control room to service most of your studio production needs, including a loading dock and the capacity to fit 100 persons in the studio with overflow in an adjoining studio space.
The station adheres to the University’s commitment to excellence, leadership, and public service. In its 30 plus years on air, WHUT has become a leader in broadcast communications and an integral part of the community. It has done so by providing entertaining, relevant, and informative programming for its viewing community. WHUT also offers professional training in television production, engineering and management.
Since its inception, WHUT has been setting benchmarks and breaking records. Its original programming has received numerous awards including 13 Emmys, several of which have been distributed nationally.
