WHUT’s Anacostia Digital Media Arts Club, under the leadership of American Graduate Fellow Tyrell Vaughn, produced the American Graduate Student Film Festival’s winning video, Be the Change. Be the Change‘s powerful message of adult mentors being the change they want to see in students and empowering them to stay in school resonated with a broad spectrum of viewers.
Second and third place winners — “Invisible Bully” and “Got Education,” respectively — both produced by Mississippi Public Broadcasting’s Can We Kick It crew delivered impressive online results as well.
We are especially proud of the Anacostia dMAC because their social media campaign was largely conducted by the students of Anacostia High School. All of the winners are being announced today on the 180 Days (180schooldays.org) and Public Media Corps websites and various social media platforms.
