Honoring Juneteenth: A Celebration of Freedom

Juneteenth, celebrated each year on June 19, marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned they were free. This moment came more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of the struggle for freedom and the importance of justice and equality. It is a time to reflect on the past, celebrate progress, and continue working toward a more inclusive future.
