A Season of Gold and Grit
The Bison women’s team showcased their depth and determination by winning 14 gold medals and sweeping the podium in the triple jump, 100 meter dash, and 400 meter hurdles. Junior standout Kiya Lawson led the charge with three golds in the 200 meter, 400 meter, and 4x400 meter relay. The team capped off the meet with a commanding win in the 4x400 relay, finishing six seconds ahead of the competition. Eyes on the NCAA Championships
As the women’s team celebrates another historic season, the focus now shifts to the NCAA East Preliminary Rounds in Jacksonville Florida from May 28 to 31. The men’s team also made a strong showing, finishing second overall, led by graduate student Noah Langford’s double gold in the 100 meter and 400 meter hurdles. Coach Oliver emphasized that both teams are not just participating, they are contending. With a culture built on discipline, pride, and purpose, Howard’s track and field program continues to raise the bar and represent the university with excellence on the national stage.
