Meet Phoebe & Jay: Your Everyday Literacy Adventure Buddies!

Phoebe and Jay Premieres February 2nd

Get ready, families—two curious twins are here to turn everyday moments into amazing learning adventures! Phoebe and Jay Yarber star in PBS KIDS’ newest show, where they help kids explore the world using something we all use every day: everyday literacy.

What’s everyday literacy? It’s reading and understanding the things we see all around us—like lists, signs, menus, symbols, and even braille. Phoebe & Jay show that being a great reader isn’t only about books… it’s also about noticing and interpreting the words and symbols that guide our daily lives.

A Snow Day Full of Stories and Snacks

Earlier this week, Phoebe & Jay popped into the community during a special virtual screening featuring their episodes “Paint the Mail” and “The Last Box.” Families watched the twins solve everyday problems by reading and using clues around them—just like real literacy explorers!

And because every great adventure needs a great snack, kids made their own PB & J sandwiches with help from our Work It Out Wombats. The Wombats are pros at breaking tasks into steps—just like the thinking kids use in everyday literacy. They also help with fun food tasks in their Step It Out game, which teaches kids how to follow sequences to get things done.

Families also grabbed snowy‑day activity pages—coloring sheets, weather observation pages, and more—to keep their brains buzzing even when the world outside is chilly.

Come Join the Adventure!

Phoebe and Jay officially arrive on the PBS KIDS app on Monday, February 2, and they can’t wait to meet new friends.
