A time-honored tradition that officially celebrates the beginning of the new academic year.

Howard University’s 2026 Opening Convocation will take place on Friday, September 18. Doors will open for seating at 9:30 a.m. and the ceremony will begin promptly at 10:45 a.m. at which time all guests must be seated.
