GOSPEL Live! Presented by Henry Louis Gates, Jr. (+ WHUT companion content)

A one-of-a-kind musical celebration that honors the legacy and influence of Gospel music in America. Contemporary secular artists and renowned gospel singers perform their favorite gospel classics. The event, co-hosted by Gates and Erica Campbell, and featuring John Legend, is a companion program to the four-hour PBS documentary series, GOSPEL.

10pm – Freddie Mercury: The Tribute Concert

At 6pm on April 20th, 1992, Roger Taylor, Brian May and John Deacon - the surviving members of Queen - took the stage of London's legendary Wembley Stadium to announce the start of one of the biggest events in rock history: a tribute to the incomparable Freddie Mercury with a glittering array of guest vocalists and players, featuring Elton John, Robert Plant, Axl Rose, David Bowie, George Michael and many more. (new)

features soul and R&B superstars The O Jays, Harold Melvin's Blue Notes, Russell Thompkins and the New Stylistics, Jerry Butler, The Soul Survivors, The Delphonics, The Three Degrees, Bunny Sigler, G.C. Cameron and Jean Carne, along with the 28-piece TSOP Orchestra and some of the best-known songs of our time

5:30pm – American Pop Flashback! Great Hits of the ‘60s & ‘70s

Hosted by Micky Dolenz (The Monkees), celebrates two-decades worth of feel-good hits that made us sing along, tap our feet, shed a tear, fall in love and remember the best moments of our lives. Featuring a dazzling cavalcade of stars, including Glen Campbell, The Osmond Brothers, Lesley Gore, Bill Medley, Crystal Gayle, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Tony Orlando, and many more music icons of the era, this nostalgic music special captures the soundtrack of multiple generations. Songs include “I'm A Believer,” “Rhinestone Cowboy,” “One Fine Day” and “This Diamond Ring.”

To accommodate the Super Tuesday coverage at 11pm, we start pledge at 7 with Black Broadway. Celebrate the rich history of Black roles and voices on Broadway with an all-star cast.

9pm – Luther Vandross — Always and Forever: An Evening of Songs at Royal Albert Hall

Recorded on his 1994-1995 world tour, this concert features the legendary Luther Vandross at his most smooth and sensuous, performing his greatest hits and favorite covers. Songs include "Never Too Much," "Stop to Love," "Here and Now," "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now," and "Give Me the Reason."
